### Can Skip run on Linux or Windows? {#linux}

Skip is implemented as a Swift Package Manager plugin, and so is only available on platforms where SwiftPM plugins are supported. Currently SwiftPM plugins are only supported on macOS.
Skip does have limited support for Linux (and Windows via WSL). The `skip` tool itself can be installed with Homebrew (see [Getting Started](/docs/gettingstarted/)), and `skip` can be used to create projects, build frameworks, run in CI, and act as a frontend to `skip android [build|test|sdk|emulator]`. However, it cannot yet be used to build complete apps due to the reliance on the SwiftUI and Xcode toolchain distributed as part of macOS. We are considering ways of expanding Skip's utility on Linux and Windows for the future.
