I'm experimenting with using this library with another and the pandas (and implicit numpy) pins got in the way of compatibility. I also found the missing lockfile made it hard to navigate conflicting dependencies beyond what you've stated in the pyproject.
This PR removes the pin on pandas and updates numpy so it can work with 2+. It took a guess that you might be using uv so I brought the lockfile into version control too. Happy to remove this if not.
