Now that the draft is out of the https://vfxplatform.com/ can we please make the api Python 3.13 (and maybe even 3.14) compatible early rather then later so we can already benefit from being able to use a newer version of python that has for example reflinks (file cloning) build in.

Hey @patrickwolf , yes. We currently are testing the breaking changes introduced in Python 3.12 first. They should be ready soon. After that we'll start with the VFX platform. I apologize this can't be done sooner.

Hello @patrickwolf we recently released v3.9.0 which removed Python 2 traces and added support for Python 3.12. This is an intermediate step to fully support VFX 2026.

We don't expect to have a lot to do for 3.13 now. Let us know how it goes with v3.9.0.
