This happens on PHP 7 because union return types are not supported.

Actually there are other similar errors in this file and if you remove the union return types it results in other problems where the way the function is defined is different to a parent method. Anyway, needs some proper testing on 7.

@adrianbj How are you getting WireSessionHandlerAdaptor to load in PHP 7? It has a PHP 8.4 gatekeeper in front of it. This line is the only place the class is referenced in the core, and the line can't be reached without PHP 8.4, unless I've missed something: https://github.com/processwire/processwire/blob/master/wire/core/WireSessionHandler.php#L53
