ask_user laggy with screen jumping as typing response

Describe the bug

When the agent calls the ask_user tool to ask a question, when it does so with a relatively long description and the response is more than 2-3 lines, the more typed, it starts to flash with each key that is typed, and then starts jumping to the start of the terminal and back on each key type and becomes so laggy that it's very difficult to type anything, requiring to wait between each key that is pressed, and also misses some keys that are typed

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Ask an agent to use ask_user to ask you a multiple choice question with the last option being freeform, or to write a long multiple line description in the question (what it has done so far or something similar)
2. In the freeform answer, type something that is more than 2 lines long- and it will start lagging the more you type and terminal will start jumping to beginning and flashing

Expected behavior

To not be flashing on each typed character and jumping to start of terminal and back on inputs that are more than 2 lines long

Additional context

• OS: macOS
• CPU: arm
• Terminal Emulator: iTerm2 (also happens in macOS terminal app and from SSH session)
• Shell: zsh
