describe the problem

Installing on a Thinkpad T570 using the latest git clone version of archinstall. Selected Network Manager (IWD Backed). System does have an AX210NGW card installed and working.

Please note that this exact same config worked yesterday. The only thing that changed is I selected firewalld instead of ufw this time.

The originial issue was based on an install using the master branch. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Just to be sure, I repeated an install using master in both a VM and on the laptop. Same error both times. Below are the commands used and the results / logs. It seems like maybe it's trying to disable the unit before it's been installed?

As an experiment, I redid the install on the laptop (from the git branch) and left everything the same, except for NetworkManager, which I changed to "Default Backend". Everything installed fine and I just changed the backend to iwd manually.

Of note: iwd was already installed when the script was done, so even when it is not selected, it is being installed. I don't know if that is intentional.

Default desktop pkgs are added after network configuration ran

Causing the crash, it's clear in logs iwd isn't being added to target

If you change order in guided.py and removed most of the pkgs from defaults to be installed with desktops

Then the switch case should look something like this:
