I think there are many cases where limiting this "throw speed" would be useful, i.e. to stop players from throwing objects over/around walls or up ledges in tighter puzzle layouts, or to prevent players from losing critical items by throwing them into inaccessible positions.
I believe there is already a speed clamp for dropped physics objects to prevent them from going flying when you flick your camera (correct me if I'm wrong), but as far as I know it is hard-coded. It would be nice to see this opened up.
