Scalasca is a good profiling tool for parallel applications, developed at the Research Centre Juelich (FZJ) in Germany.

I've used it in the past with MPAS, and recently there was a presentation at NOAA where it was used with the UFS.

Let's check if we can include Scalasca easily in one or more of our spack-stack environments.
