Get User by xf_session #67

Hi,
in #23 there was requested to be a method to get/identify a user by his session cookie - is this implemented yet?
i've a webservice running on the same host, where i can access the xf_session cookie.
it would be quite pleasant to be able to use that existing hash (if hes already logged in the forum) to identify the user instead of having him to login again.
or am i missing something?
